Chase Utley will not play for the second straight game because of the flu. Utley, who started feeling sick Sunday in Chicago, was not available to even pinch-hit Tuesday.

Manager Ryne Sandberg benched another of his infielders, Cody Asche. The 23-year-old third baseman worked with numerous coaches Wednesday afternoon in some extra infield drills. He made an error Tuesday that led to a Milwaukee run.

The lineup vs. righty Matt Garza:

1. Ben Revere 8
2. Jimmy Rollins 6
3. Carlos Ruiz 2
4. Ryan Howard 3
5. Marlon Byrd 9
6. Domonic Brown 7
7. Cesar Hernandez 4
8. Jayson Nix 5
9. Roberto Hernandez 1
