Without Jimmy Rollins in the lineup, Charlie Manuel has coincidentally decided it's time for Chase Utley to play five straight days for the first time this season. What, you mean you weren't looking forward to a possible Wilson Valdez-Michael Martinez middle infield?

Utley played had played no more than three days in a row before Monday.

The Phillies will face Dodgers' uber-prospect Rubby De La Rosa, who is making his first major-league start. De La Rosa has pitched five innings of relief and struck out five while allowing a run.

A housekeeping note: Kyle Kendrick will start Thursday against Chicago. Not much of a surprise here -- the Phillies do not have an obvious replacement (on turn) other than Vance Worley. Worley is scheduled to start at triple A on Wednesday and Rich Dubee has said he wants Worley to make at least a few starts in the minors.

Also, bet on Kendrick starting one of the doubleheader games June 15 against Florida.

And for those clamoring for 32-year-old triple-A righthander Brian Gordon, who leads all the minors with a 0.74 ERA, he threw 85 pitches Monday.

The lineup for Tuesday:

1. Shane Victorino 8
2. Placido Polanco 5
3. Chase Utley 4
4. Ryan Howard 3
5. Raul Ibanez 7
6. Carlos Ruiz 2
7. Domonic Brown 9
8. Wilson Valdez 6
9. Roy Oswalt 1
