MIAMI — Ryne Sandberg said Sunday he would decide his center fielder based upon pitching matchups. Ben Revere, who entered the season entrenched in center, does not appear to have an everyday job any longer.

Revere missed the weekend series with Cincinnati because of a stomach virus. He will not play Tuesday. Tony Gwynn Jr. is in center.

The Marlins will pitch Anthony DeSclafani, a righty from Freehold, N.J., making his second major-league start. Gwynn's career numbers against righties are better than Revere's.
