Game 117: In-N-Out, Vanimal Style

LOS ANGELES — The Phillies turn to Vance Worley in search of their best 10-game road trip in franchise history. Never before have they gone 9-1 in a 10-game trip.

Worley rebounded from his shakiest start since his recall with seven dominant innings against San Francisco last time out. He's never faced the Dodgers and that should provide an advantage because teams have said the biggest challenge Worley presents is his deception.

Worley is paired with Brian Schneider yet again. In today's Inquirer, we detailed Schneider's success with Worley. Also, the Phillies have 13-game winning streak when Schneider starts. Not bad for a backup catcher.

Charlie Manuel's lineup against Dodgers righthander Chad Billingsley:

1. Jimmy Rollins 6
2. Shane Victorino 8
3. Chase Utley 4
4. Ryan Howard 3
5. Hunter Pence 9
6. Raul Ibanez 7
7. Brian Schneider 2
8. Michael Martinez 5
9. Vance Worley 1

A lot of people might not get the reference in the headline. You have to have eaten at In-n-Out to get the allusion. It is the best fast food, even better than Five Guys.

Love Five Guys. Unfortunately, it has never been "fast" food for me. Even so, well worth the wait.

It might also help to have listened to Childish Gambino's latest EP. Then you'd know that he's just happy these girls seem into him now. Because they're looking for some in-n-out, animal style.

Pretty sure that's the reference, since Gelb name dropped Donald Glover on twitter last night.

    I have no life.

Have to agree that In-n-Out is a better burger place than Five Guys, although completely different...So far this game is looking like an In-n-Out game though!!! Pence did just send one DEEP to center to make it 6-2...

Does any burger have more grease than 5 Guys? What a mess eating one of those.

In & Out Burger rules! They would destroy 5 Guys if they came to the east coast.

in-n-out is okay but the burgers are small. I still like Five Guys although i will eat at in-n-out whenever I'm in California.

Re-posting (not sure if it posted before): In-n-out is okay but their burgers are too small. I prefer Five-guys although I do get in-n-out whenever I'm in California.

In-N-Out burgers are great, but the fries are brutal. I usually don't go there because of that.

I've eaten at both places and,to me, In-N-Out is good but Five Guys rules.

in-n-out is so overrated; it's the Geno's of semi-fast burger places. Just because celebs name drop it doesn't make it good.

I know nothing of its history, I just think it's good! I'm assuming Geno's is the same one in Philly, and if it is I would love to stop by and try a brger when I come to Philly, except whenever I come there, I can never eat anything but cheese steaks...

Five Guys has expanded to the west coast and doing very well head to head against In-N-Out. They opened two places last year in my former hometown of Tucson, Az. where In-N-Out was already entrenched. They're doing so well that they're opening two more places.

PhilliefaninAZ, forget about a Geno's (or Pat's) cheesesteak. They're far from the best in the city--they're really not good at all. Go to Tony Luke's or even Jim's. Geno's and Pat's are all hype, all myth.
