FORT MYERS, Fla. — Freddy Galvis was spared the 130-mile bus ride Wednesday to Hammond Stadium, but that was not the only reason to smile. His left foot was wrapped, but the bruise from fouling off a ball there was no worse than Tuesday.

"I feel much better today," Galvis said back in Clearwater.

Galvis wasn't limping and saw a team doctor who agreed with Tuesday's assessment: There was no need for an X-ray or any real worry.

"Everything was good," he said.

He planned to do some work on a stationary bike Wednesday, but mostly take it easy. The Phillies probably don't mind, since Galvis led the team in Grapefruit League at-bats with 66 entering Wednesday's game.
