I can imagine the emotions from Harry Kalas, and the ring ceremony and the championship hangover, but its PAST TIME for the Phillies to WAKE THE HELL UP and start playing some baseball!!!

Those four run home runs usually help to wake up a team-clutch win and a nice job by Myers battling through after a shaky start.

I love amazing comeback wins, but this is kind of ridiculous. These guys are World Champions and front runners. The time where they start getting the jump on teams and putting them away has to start happening or I am afraid that this sluggish type of baseball could carry over into May and June and so on. I think the first thing that has to happen is the starters have to keep teams off of the board early. Digging out of holes every single night is gonna get very tiring and will take its toll on the team down the stretch run. Hamels appeared to be getting his stuff back in line prior to taking the line drive from Fielder, so thats a very good sign.

About Matt Gelb and Bob Brookover

Bob Brookover and Matt Gelb team up for their third straight season covering the Phillies for the Inquirer and philly.com.

This is Brookover’s second stint writing about the Phillies, having joined the coverage team after seven years as an Eagles beat writer. Brookover was hired by The Inquirer in 2000 as the Phillies beat writer after spending 13 years writing about the team for two suburban newspapers. While on the Eagles beat, Brookover, who had covered just two winning Phillies teams in 15 seasons, saw the Phillies move into a cash-cow new ballpark and begin playing a brand of the game he found unrecognizable. Gelb is in his third season covering the Phillies. He was hired by The Inquirer in August 2009 after graduating from Syracuse University. He has also covered baseball at The Star-Ledger and Cape Cod Times. Born and raised in Bucks County, he attended Central Bucks High School West. Follow him on Twitter here.
