Feliz Happy

Charlie Manuel said yesterday that today would be a "big day" for Pedro Feliz.  The third baseman, who had back surgery in November, took live batting practice for the first time yesterday, and Manuel was eager to see how he felt today.  "Bueno," Feliz said, giving a thumbs up.  He said he felt no soreness.  That would mean that he remains on track to play in Grapefruit League games sometime in the middle of the month.

Jayson Werth did finally swing in his second at-bat in the B game, roping a single to left.  He finished the game 1-for-4 and said afterward that he is ready for Graprefruit League action.

I have received two texts and three phone calls for Todd Zolecki in the past few days, and keep having to approach my predecessor, asking, "hey do you recognize this number? How about this one?"  Yes, the paper gave us the same cell number. I'm waiting for someone to call with a really good scoop, so I can say, "Yeah, uh, this is Todd. What's that? Utley for Pedroia?"
