Domonic Brown talks about return to minors
Matt Breen
On playing left field:
Last year I played like five games (in left field), but other than that I think it was A-ball. I used to play all three, but then they stopped that. The angles you take on the ball are different. Even those ground balls felt different in the gap. It’s going to take some time.
I’m just happy to have a job, triple A or whatever. I’m happy to be playing. I took that drive today and I have to think positive and I have to stay focused on what I have to do. Hope for a long career ahead of me, so I’m just out there having fun.
On Hunter Pence
Go up, contribute and do what he gotta do for the team. As long as we are winning, then I’m good. I’ve got a job here. It was kind of tough on me last night, but I prayed a little bit about it and talked to my family and I thought about everything’s good. My family’s good, I’m not hurting financially or anything like that. I’m still going to live in Philly, still got a lot of great fans up there and I’ll do my thing down here. Hopefully I can be up pretty soon.

No question, Domonic has the right attitude and will benefit from some further seasoning in AAA. I expect to see him back up for September expanded rosters; and I think he'll be an important piece in the years to come. Seems like he has the right attitude. Hang in there, D-Brown. veritas1325
He's our left fielder next year. He knows that. farley

Looks comfortable in left field??????
He doesn't look comfortable holding a glove VicM
If he can adjust to LF, we will have a talented outfield next year... PhilliefaninAZ

doesn't know how to play the angles, doesn't hustle to the corner (inexcusable), doesn't hustle to back up 1st base (inexcusable). was handed the starting job on a world series bound team and doesn't hustle? needs to look in the mirror gsn
Dom Brown thought it was gonna be a cakewalk in the Majors...tough place because everyone was a PROSPECT...The talent offensively is there, but the swing needs altering...He's gotta work now to get better, not just show up,get 4 at bats, and call it a day...Let's hope the talent gets fulfilled. bearsfriend
Get mad Domonic and do what is necessary to deserve starting in left field at CBP shawnmac
Sorry to see the yo-yo ing with him and Worley earlier in the season, but it is all for the best. I just hope we have room Mayberry Jr. Love his stride, his swing, pedigree and education! BFrac- Sounds like exactly the right attitude. Looking forward to seeing him in LF next year, expecting to see a big improvement defensively.
I agree. He seems like a nice and bright young man. What I don't understand is why he's so far behind in baseball knowledge. EL Zorro- Mayberry just seems a lot more ready than Brown. Dom straight up terrifies me in the field. Mayberry has more confidence at the plate as well. Hopefully the folks up North can iron out the wrinkles in Dom's game. He will be a September call-up, and Raul's replacement in 2012, so his future is still bright.
D Brown played football for most of his young life - baseball was a late career change. Not a total excuse, but it does explain some of the kids deficiencies in the outfield. The curious thing to me is that he seems to already have a leg up on the hardest part of the job - developing an eye for the strike zone against major league pitching and scouting. PhillySnowball
Hands high. Hands low.
I hope between now and 2012 that someone, anyone, in the organization can get Brown to settle on one batting stance. PhightinPhil
