Jays ask for Drabek, Happ and Brown for Halladay
Andy Martino
Well, here it is, the Blue Jays asking price for Roy Halladay: Jays GM J.P. Ricciardi has spoken to the Phillies within the past 24 hours and negotiations are underway in earnest, baseball sources tell the Inquirer. They want Kyle Drabek, J.A. Happ and Dominic Brown.
That's what they've asked for. It remains to be seen how the Phils will respond to that. Keep in mind that in a negotiating process, offers evolve; this would not necessarily be the deal, if one is done. The Phils could counter with something entirely different.
When Charlie Manuel said yesterday “I prefer the horse,” the horse had a name: Halladay. As the Phillies and Blue Jays negotiate, figuring out who to include or not in a potential trade, there is a buzz around the clubhouse. Phillies players have pulled me aside, asking, “Hey, off the record, are we going to get Doc? What will we have to give up?
Do it!!!!! tarik255- dam sam, I just wish there was a way to keep Happ. no duh, Halladay is an improvement over Happ, but having a pitcher of Happ's caliber as a 4th pitcher in the playoffs would be ideal...what about trading Carrasco? I know it might be a year late, but the guy is still a prospect. could be just a bad year for him...hopefully there will be a way to keep Happ and have your Halladay too...

J.A., we hardly know ya... KevinRx- man, i hate giving up drabek.
Not all three! Mix in some others. amblereagles
Halladay is a great pitcher but his contract is up after next season, Thus the questions are: 1) How long will we have him? Will we be able to re- sign him? Will we hock half the farm for a guy we will have for only a year and a half and then have no players left to show for it? Are we sacrificing too much of our future and our future economic well being and a chance to win for the long haul in order to win now? joedoc3

Pass. That's too much. perfectcrime- if the Phils get Halladay, hallelujah! but Ruben Amaro better get ready to do his best Theo Espstein impersonation. because this team will have to go into bidding on high-priced free agents & blockbuster trade dealing to remain a high-level contender for the next few years...either way - Go Phillies!
Greedy bastids! I just hope we won't be quoting Job from Arrested Development, "I made a huge mistake." philly200
