I predict Blanton has a good outing tonight. You can take that to the bank.

Andy, I read the Chat transcript and you still have it wrong with JC Romero. JC took the new vitamins for less than a month and MLB admitted that the trace of steroids was so minimal that it wouldn’t have made a difference. Romero has been a good relief pitcher for the Phillies –and the Twins- way before he started taking that new supplement.

J.C Romero pitched for a period of time last season while taking androstenedione. This season, he won't be taking that substance, presumably. That's all I said.

It is always difficult to predict how a relief pitcher will fare from one year to the next, and when you add any variables it becomes even more difficult.

A-Roid said he used stuff that anybody could get at GRC. Haven't read the book yet, but apparently that wasn't the whole truth. As they say, where there's smoke, there's fire. Perhaps JC has a history. Hope not. We'll see.

You can't compare A-Rod to JC. JC tried to get help, to make it right and never had the issues A-Rod had. Yes, he tested positive, but if he was a cheater, how come he did not accept the reduced penalty right away that MLB proposed –which tells you something about the case when there is a zero tolerance in baseball- and instead is still fighting it? And I know. Palmeiro and Clemens denied under oath using steroids. But those are two different cases also. JC doesn't even drink soda, for crying out loud.

I think J.C. is going to pitch like a 3rd closer for this team. Remember, MLB has smeered J.C.'s reputation all over the country. Only Phans read all the details of the case. We know the punishment was excessive, but the REST of the country just put his name on the list of players in the Mitchell Report. J.C. should ask MLB to randomly test him every once or twice a month for the rest of the season. Then go out and pitch without mercy to the opposition. That's the only way he can restore his reputation. If he comes out flat and pitches poorly, everyone will think steroids made him a good pitcher. J.C.can't get his money back, but he CAN resore his reputation. I predict an ERA under 2.00!
