Brookover’s top 10 minor-league prospects

We’re past the mid-point for the minor-league seasons and there is now a big enough body of evidence to put together an updated list of the Phillies’ top 10 prospects.

The last time we performed this exercise was in December, and the top 10 list looked like this: 1. Domonic Brown, 2. Jonathan Singleton, 3. Jarred Cosart, 4. Vance Worley, 5. Justin DeFratus, 6. Sebastian Valle, 7. Jesse Biddle, 8. Brody Colvin, 9. Matt Rizzotti, 10. Trevor May.

In retrospect, I regret not putting Michael Stutes and Antonio Bastardo on the list because they have been the Phillies’ rookies of the year so far this season.

Anyway, it’s time for a new list. Brown and Worley are in the big leagues, so they’re no longer eligible. What’s notable about this new list is that five of the team’s 10 best prospects are at single-A Clearwater and seven of the 10 are pitchers.
