Both games rained out

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Heavy rains have canceled both Phillies split squad games in Lakeland and Port Charlotte on Friday. They will not be made up.

The Phillies' buses never left Bright House Field this morning as they waited for a decision on the games. After they were canceled, some Phillies players stuck around for a non-mandatory workout.

J.A. Happ was scheduled to start in Port Charlotte against the Rays today. Pitching coach Rich Dubee said Happ will instead start on Saturday against the Twins here in Clearwater.
