Jolly Cholly outsmarted himself. The 45,000 at the game and a few million watching on Fox knew he should have hit for Blanton, but our hunch playing manager knew better. It cost him a game. Bobby Valentine was not involved in hunch playing and survived with a win. I hate losing to that smug manager

In many ways-he stuck with Blanton because of Worley's injury. Because Kendrick was not available-even Blanton pitching poorly was better than what he had available for long relief.
He gambled that Blanton could go another inning or two so that the bullpen would not be in shambles today. He lost.
