So Truth, are the Yankees classless for mishandling A-rod's injury? What happened with J-roll happens to every team now and again, you loser!!

I was at Wed. game and KNEW we were in trouble when I saw the team wearing those green hats. Not that I'm superstitious at all, but everytime we wear something other than the norm, we seem to lose. And it also seems that everytime it's someone's bobblehead night, they don't do well. Tonight's was Jamie's and he got the loss. He did get a nice round of applause when we left the game. A couple of year's ago, there was a Chase bobblehead and he was hitless for the night. Last year at Shane's bobblehead night, he was hitless til his last at bat. Then he hit a walk-off homer, so I guess he was vindicated. LOL! Oh well. At least the Flyers won!

Green hats = recycling awareness. There were new recycling bins all over the park, we'll see if they're removed tonight. Also, why is Coste hitting 8th? Move him ahead of the rally-killer Feliz, 2 GIDP in a game is unacceptable.

Recycling Awareness? What crap! How much electric is used to operate the scoreboards and ads that are all over the stadium? Wanna "go green"? then play all of your games at 1:00 PM. Hypocrits!

Despite Moyer's loss on his bobblehead night, it was great to see him get his first hit of the season. Too bad he never got further than first base.

Jason, why did you let that ball fall right in front of you in the 8th inning of last years NLDS????? Were you playing "not to lose"??

I'm going to start a Rollins watch. This injury that the Phillies have described as a minor "sprain" not needing an MRI has cost the MVP THREE weeks of playing time. It looks like he will not be in uniform for another 2-3wks based on what I'm hearing. It's really an injustice to JRoll, his fans and his teammates that the proper medical treatment was not prescribed. The Phillies will get it one day....

"Feliz is this year's Wes Helms." That's wins the dumbest post of the day award. Truth and markn1p or whatever his name is (he of the "I'd rather see Howard hit 25 HR's and make contact then see him hit 40-50 HR's and K 200 times") thank you. Feliz can wear his hat over his eyes and play a better 3rd base than Wes Helms...and he can go up to the plate with the bat weight still on and produce more. Let's not get carried away and compare Pedro Feliz to a guy who can't even win a starting gig in Florida over Jorge Cantu, who was tossed aside by Tampa Bay and Cincinnati over the past year.

did anyone notice that john smoltz is moving to the bull pen? this almost exactly one year after he was intensely critical of the phillies and brett myers for moving an injured starter to the bull pen in the middle of the season. can you say hypocrisy? the braves are incredible full of themselves. they need to realize it's not the '90s anymore...

I don't think anything that may have been done differently would have had an impact on J-Roll's ability to play right now. An MRI on day one would not have healed him any faster.

About Matt Gelb and Bob Brookover

Bob Brookover and Matt Gelb team up for their third straight season covering the Phillies for the Inquirer and philly.com.

This is Brookover’s second stint writing about the Phillies, having joined the coverage team after seven years as an Eagles beat writer. Brookover was hired by The Inquirer in 2000 as the Phillies beat writer after spending 13 years writing about the team for two suburban newspapers. While on the Eagles beat, Brookover, who had covered just two winning Phillies teams in 15 seasons, saw the Phillies move into a cash-cow new ballpark and begin playing a brand of the game he found unrecognizable. Follow him on Twitter here.

Gelb is in his third season covering the Phillies. He was hired by The Inquirer in August 2009 after graduating from Syracuse University. He has also covered baseball at The Star-Ledger and Cape Cod Times. Born and raised in Bucks County, he attended Central Bucks High School West. Follow him on Twitter here.
