Interesting thought there, the idea of trading Howard now to create salary room to keep Werth. Both are fan fav's, Howard more so cause he's been around longer. I've played w/ the idea of moving Werth up in my 'fantasy line-up,' between Utley and Howard. I've read spec of trading Ibanez now to create salary room for Werth, but surprised media guys or fans would spec about moving Howard.... (?!)

Howard will bemoved onlyif Phills feelthey can't sign him or his slsry dmands are over the top. In60 years of folowing Phills only Schmidt ranks with him offensively and Ryan might leave Mike behind also.

they could potentially still keep howard AND re-sign werth but it would require a ONE year salary increase. ibanez would have one year left on his contract and keeping brown down another year will let him be 100% ready when he does come up. that'll depend on brown though, if he's tearing it up down in the minors this year and looks ready i dont think they'll hold him back a year.

also lets not write off ibanez yet seriously. he was amazing the first half of last season and unfortunately had that groin injury bothering him the 2nd half of the season. he's one of the hardest working players in baseball.
