PITTSBURGH -- The Phillies were justifiably dejected after going a season-high tying 12 games under .500 following Friday’s 8-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park.

PITTSBURGH -- The Phillies were justifiably dejected after going a season-high tying 12 games under .500 following Friday’s 8-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park.

The Phillies have dropped 11 of their last 14 games. Meanwhile the Pirates (45-41) have won four of their last five (and six of eight) and are a season-best four games over .500

Two teams going in opposite directions.

Phillies RHP David Buchanan (4-4, 4.86 ERA) faces RHP Edinson Volquez (6-6, 4.07). Volquez brings a 13 inning scoreless streak into today’s start.
