The Phillies have released righthanded reliever Chad Durbin and have recalled lefthander Joe Savery from Lehigh Valley,

Durbin, 35, carried a 9.00 ERA and opponents were batting .357 against him.  He may have sealed his fate by allowing three earned runs in one inning during Thursday’s 9-2 loss to the Boston Red Sox.

This is the third time this season Savery has been recalled. He has pitched just one inning for the Phillies.

At Lehigh Valley he was 3-1 with a 4.03 ERA. Savery had 29 strikeouts and allowed eight walks in 22 1/3 innings and had a 1.12 WHIP.
