Rollins has been on the DL since April 20 with a sprained left ankle. The Phillies said Rollins' arrival in San Francisco does not guarantee he will be activated before tomorrow night's game. Athletic trainer Scott Sheridan will test Rollins' ankle first before he is activated.

- Players are like stocks. You sell only when they are flying high. I think it's nuts to talk about trading Ryan Howard now, when he's making news for how bad he's doing. Keep him, fix him, get him back to MVP form, and then maybe think about a trade. Best time would be 2 years prior to free agency, so the acquiring team knows they have him for more than just one season. This kind of reminds me of the Phils' handling of Abreu. They could have traded him for real value just after he won the HR contest at the all-star game. Instead they kept him, he stopped hitting homers, and they ended up practically giving him away to the Yanks. bobby
Abreu was never worth anything after lil Eddie signed him to that monster contract. The Phillies have to many chips to be a team that relies on 2-3 bats to keep them going. I remember the Cards of the 60's they had good teams up and down the order. The Phillies are worthless after the five hole and some would say the 2 position is pretty worthless as well. They need depth and just just off the bench. For once they msy not need to add to the 'penand I wish P.G. would do something drastic. They have two seasons incl this one and the window closes unless he gets creative. Truth- Bad trades pitcher for hitter: Frank Robinson for Milt Pappas. Jeff Bagwell for Larry Anderson. Roger Maris for Don Larsen.... closer to home - Nick Punto for Eric Milton. Johnny Estrada for Kevin Millwood. The only trade that I could find that clearly went to the pitcher was Delino Deshields for Pedro Martinez ***** I'll take the 10-1 odds from Gary Varsho on Howard having 10 HR by next Sunday's (May 18) game boxscore. Loser sends a check to winner's charity of choice. What's the wager Gary? RAS
No way in hexx do I trade Howard for CC Sabathia. I agree that a trade can happen, but Bobby is right on, you sell high, not low. jimmymack
