ALLENTOWN -- Since being promoted in late July from Double-A Reading, right-hander Jonathan Pettibone has been dominant for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Pettibone continued his successful run at Triple-A with Tuesday’s 1-0 win over the Toledo Mud Hens, in the first game of a doubleheader at Coca-Cola Park.

Since the teams have two games scheduled, they are just seven innings.

Pettibone pitched a complete-game three-hitter, striking out four and walking three, while throwing 103 pitches, 59 for strikes.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound Pettibone is now 4-0 with a 1.69 ERA in five starts for the IronPigs.

Pettibone, who turned 22 on July 19, is The Inquirer’s No. 3 ranked Phillies prospect.

What Pettibone’s teammates have to like is that he is one of the fastest workers and he made quick work of the Mud Hens, the Detroit Tigers affiliate.

The game took just 1 hour and 36 minutes, the quickest game in Iron Pigs history.
