The Phillies pitchers put up some nice goose eggs today. Everyone looked sharp while the offense started to pick up. Scott Podsendnic looking like he wants that outfield spot. Juan Pierre better get that arm stronger.

Stupid report. Over half the minute was wasted in a Charlie Manuel "tid-bit" about the Indians asking for Cliff Lee. One sentence on the game. Murp' is usually better than this.

Lee wins the NL Cy Young this year. He's an intensely competitive guy, still stinging from the playoff loss. He's also steadily on the ground here in Philly. Halladay's HOF bound and Hamels is in a contract year. I pick this guy to be the best of the bunch, presuming they all stay healthy, but let's hope it's close all the way to November!

Pods butchered a deep fly ball Monday and got booed by the right field section of a happy spring training crowd. Even he hung his head as he waited for subsequent pitches. This was in the same inning that Gillies and Mayberry were showcasing rifles. Of course, in the inning earlier, Pods competition, Pierre, got thrown out by a lot attempting to steal against a guy Pence stole on easily one runner later. Both Pods and Pierre are racing backwards for that last spot before Howard returns.
