    Considering Howard hasn't been playing up to his potential the last couple years and he's known as Mr Strikeout, I don't see how they will be that much worse without him.

    ryan howard led the league in rbi's until around beginning of August. pretty good stat. and they were not useless rbi's.

    Perhaps Howard has given up hitting breaking balls on the opposite side of the plate for lent.

    Its understandable. He's a bona fide superstar and can't be concerned with playing baseball.

    Phils will be steady without him, they have a history of subs playing well in times like this. RH returns and we can only hope he moves a bit closer to the plate...closes it up. Otherwise is more of the same. Still like him, just wish he'd adapt to the league's approach to him.
