UPDATED: The lineup has been posted and Domonic Brown will make his major league debut, hitting sixth and playing rightfield tonight against Arizona.

The Domonic Brown era has begun.
Centerfielder Shane Victorino was placed on the 15-day disabled list with an abdominal strain on his left side, the Phillies announced.
The Phillies selected the contract of Brown, the organization's top prospect, from Triple A Lehigh Valley to take his roster spot. Brown will wear No. 9 and will be available for tonight’s game against the Diamondbacks, presumably as the starting rightfielder.
Victorino was hitting .250 with a career-high 15 home runs and 53 RBI in 98 games for the Phillies this season.
Victorino, who has a team-leading 20 stolen bases this season, suffered the injury while diving back into first base during a pickoff attempt in last night’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Citizens Bank Park.
Brown, 22, has combined to hit .327 (112-for-343) with 46 extra-base hits, including 20 home runs and 68 RBI over 93 games for Double A Reading and Lehigh Valley.

- Brown is not going to sit or platoon. He is going to start and against LH pitching too since he's hitting about .360 off of lefties....Ibanez is hitting about .371 since the All Star break so he doesn't need to pick it up, he already has. This move was about having a great 9 on the field and a solid selection on the bench. Not bringing Brown up and just platooning the current cast would have left the bench depleted and short. Brown should juice the club a little, he's already juiced the fans a lot. Let's just not expect him to be NL MVP too soon, ok guys? He's got enough pressure.— Mark1npt

- @Dave Krieg ... Rollins and Brett Myers were called up when they were 21. Hamels, Kendrick, Mathieson and Madson were all called up when they were 22. Bastardo and Pat Burrell were called up when they were 23. The only players in recent years who were called up late were Carlos Ruiz, who was hitting about .210 in single A ball when he was 23 years old, Chase Utley, who was blocked by Polanco, and Ryan Howard, who was blocked by future Hall of Famer Jim Thome. The Phils don't call players up any later than other teams. And, I promise, as soon as Dom Brown whiffs once with a runner in scoring position, some people (looking at you, El Zorro) are going to rip the Phils for rushing their prospects to the majors.— GoPhilsGo

- amaro is an idiot. if the phillies had kept cliff lee, victorino going on the DL wouldn't be a problem. lee could just start in center field on his off days (the days he wasn't pitching shutouts). and then with a double switch in the 9th he could close those games, too. now they have to give up kendrick and aumont to get grienke (i read this on a reputable blog). terrible.— PhillyPhan4for4
- Btw....Vic's injury was originally termed an oblique injury and not considered too bad....now it's an abdominal strain and the DL? What were his MRI findings? An abdominal strain like this sometimes can mean a sports hernia and/or surgery. With the secrecy today, it makes you wonder.....— Mark1npt
- Ingy9, If someone can play right field, they certainly can play left field. That's where they hide the defensive liabilities with poor arms (Burrell, Luzinski, etc.)— jman
