There are a number of different opinions you can have about the Phillies' handling of Jason Grilli -- here is Bob Brookover's, and here is mine -- and there are a number of different ways to substantiate most of those opinions. But the one thing you can't argue is that it is a hell of a sight to see the journeyman closer and one-time IronPig on the national cover of Sports Illustrated, the first Pirate to grace the iconic magazine's front since Barry Bonds did it in 1992. The Pirates are one of the best teams in baseball in part because of their bullpen, and the Phillies are one of the most mediocre teams in baseball in part because of their bullpen. And Grilli happens to be on the right side of the state.
