This morning in the clubhouse R.J. Swindle was packing his bags and heading back to Lehigh Valley, while Joe Bisenius was getting settled in for what is likely a one-game stint in the bigs. Swindle threw 40 pitches yesterday, allowing two runs on four hits in 1 2/3 innings, so he wouldn't have been available to pitch today.
Bisenius is a righthanded reliever who was with the Phillies in spring training. He was 2-3 with a 3.62 ERA with 26 strikeouts and 20 walks in 32 1/3 innings at Double A Reading before being promoted to Triple A Lehigh Valley. Bisenius was 0-1 with an 11.81 ERA in four appearances with the IronPigs.
Brett Myers made his third minor league start last night and threw eight innings, allowing two runs on five hits with 10 strikeouts and two walks.
He could make one more start before rejoining the rotation, though a lot will depend on if the Phillies feel compelled to make a change with Adam Eaton's spot in the rotation.
