Shane Victorino doing his part to keep the newspaper industry afloat

Especially the way Mayberry's hitting, Shane could well be back. Too soon to tell about DoBro in left.

He's a great guy and the heart of the team the last few yeas.

Yes, Quijote agree. This Murph guy is something else, when he's not making fun of other cities, he comes with that stupid remark. Way a go Murph, you had a chance to write something very nice and blew it like a hitter swinging at a pitch over his head with a 3-2 count, 2 outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth.

He was my favorite player on the 2008 team. I'm not arguing that he was the best or most talented but he played with an enthusiasm I haven't seen since Peter Rose. Good luck in LA Shane, you will be missed.

Has a player handled being traded better? LA is closer to home for him so hopefully things will work out for his family. Can't say he didn't play hard and that's all that we ever want.

It does speak to a larger point though. When the Phillies were dominating, they had some very good players with even better contracts. WERTH, VICTORINO, MADSEN, Howard before his extensionetc. ALL outperformed their contracts by a large margin. Now there are some key players that look pretty overpriced.

The bread and butter was talent evaluation, hopefully that exists somewhere still in the system because it doesn't look like they know how to value players in their prime though I appreciate the willingness to spend money. I remember when it was HUGE news signing Gregg Jefferies

Shane - you are truly one of a kind! Thanks for being such a great example to kids on...and off the field. You showed everyone how this game should be played and I loved it. Stay healthy and have a great career - maybe we'll see you back in Philly some day.
