Schneider deal complete

As expected, catcher Brian Schneider has signed a one-year contract with the Phillies.
Schenider will make $800,000 with the possibility of another $200,000 in incentives for games played. That is a paycut from last season when he made $1.5 million.
Schneider, 34, made 36 starts for the Phillies last season and the team went 28-8 (.777), including 27-3 (.900) in his first 30 starts. From May 7 through September 6, the Phillies went 19-0 in Schneider’s starts.
Schneider batted .176 with two home runs and nine RBI in 41 games.
With Schneider behind the plate in 2011, Phillies pitchers posted a 2.85 ERA and he threw out 13% (3-23) of potential basestealers.
Some fans should just skip the whole 2012 season since they know how bad it will be. Better yet they should find a new team to root for where their line ups are filled with superstars and their teams are guaranteed a ws every single season. Trouble with half the posters on here is that they expect a ws every year like it is their right. If it doesn't happen the whole season is a bust..800,000 bucks for a catcher whom the pitchers seem to like isn't really a whole lot to whine about. pattymac3
