Jimmy Rollins said he is hoping that he will return to the Phillies line-up before the end of the regular season. But that's about as specific of a timetable as we can gather right now with regards to the short stop's strained right hamstring.

"I hope so," Rollins said when asked if he thought he'd be ready by the end of the regular season. "Studies show, even if it's a mild hamstring, even though the doctors like to say 7-to-10 days, it's usually three weeks. And that's at the mildest, before I can go and do what I need to do. But I'm not going to have three weeks. Three weeks, that puts us right at the playoffs, so, I'm definitely going to try to do my best to come back before that."

Rollins strained the hamstring last Wednesday.

Neither general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. or manager Charlie Manuel could (or, perhaps, would) say when they expect Rollins back, other than to label him "day-to-day."

As expected, the Phillies have flip-flopped Roy Oswalt and Kyle Kendrick in the rotation, starting Oswalt on Friday against the Nationals and Kendrick on Saturday. The move enables the Phillies to line up Oswalt, Cole Hamels and Roy Halladay for the series against the Braves that starts Monday. Those same three will then be available to pitch the season-ending series against the Braves in Atlanta.

The Marlins have tentatively listed Burke Badenhop as their starter tomorrow.

J.C. Ramirez, one of the three prospects obtained from the Mariners in the Cliff Lee trade, underwent right hip labral surgery. The procedure is similar to the ones that righthander Brett Myers and second baseman Chase Utley underwent in recent years. General manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said he expects Ramirez to be back pitching by spring training.
