Rollins to clarify comments on TV tonight

Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins will try again on the "Best Damn Sports Show. Period."
Fox Sports Net announced that Rollins will return to the show tonight in an effort to follow up on the remarks he made yesterday about Philadelphia fans.
You might have heard that asked whether Philadelphia was as tough a place to play as the national media sometimes portrays, Rollins answered:
“There are times,” he said. “I might catch some flak for saying this, but, you know, they’re front-runners. When you’re doing good, they’re on your side. When you’re doing bad, they’re completely against you.”
Rollins then mentioned the hometown of teammate, and fellow show guest, Ryan Howard as a differently wired fan base.
“For example, Ryan is from St. Louis and St. Louis, it seems like they support their team, they’re out there and encouraging. In Philly, can’t be no punk.”
very interesting information. i'm really undecided as the whether he'll backpedal on them or stick it to us even harder. we shall see. GOdouble
Rollins is correct in his assessment except for his use of the word "front-runners". That would mean fans only show up when they win. But fans always show up, during good or bad times. CyHamels
What and act like he is sorry? Maybe the words came out wrong? Think it is to late. The only reason he is doing that is because someone put him up to it. If you heard the way he said it the first time he meant it. Beef69
Good luck digging yourself out of this one, jerk! First! BoredAtWork

He's going to say that by 'frontrunner,' he meant the fans got accustomed to winning after last year and had high expectations blah blah blah. The phrase 'poor choice of words' will employed several times. He will say 'I love, Philly, man. Those fans have been good to me.' I'm like Kreskin over here! Jeffrey- Another politician in the making. lgroniko
I like that---J-Roll the A-hole!! ungrateful moron. Trade him now! Bob65S
where are all those who said we should not have traded for Manny? that means you Rheuben Amaro Mr Suit. this team is pathetic. Bob65S- He understood very well what he was saying because he knew it would expose him to "some flak." He'll probably say something like he was really trying to defend his friend Howard and it came out wrong and he didn't mean to paint all the fans with the same brush, etc. Scott Palmer has probably burned out two cell phone batteries talking to his about how to control the damage tonight. If the Phillies were smart (asking a lot I know), they'd have him read something. The fact that he said this at all reveals he's wanting for some gray matter. lgroniko
I really don't care what he says. I just want him to play better. He can be the biggest $#@! in the world, but if he somehow finds his form from last year why would I care? Win us a pennant! CyHamels
