Jimmy Rollins is back in his customary role as leadoff hitter for this afternoon's game against the Dodgers. I'll put the line-ups below. First, a few housekeeping items that I don't want to get lost in the shuffle.

1) Lefty J.A. Happ will start the nightcap of Saturday's doubleheader against the Nationals, barring some unforseen circumstance in the next two days.

2) Rollins was 2-for-7 with two runs scored and a home run while batting fifth.

3) Jamie Moyer's struggles continued last night, but don't expect any changes. I'll blog more on this later in the day, but right now there simply aren't many options.

 Phillies line-up

  1. Jimmy Rollins SS
  2. Shane Victorino CF
  3. Chase Utley 2B
  4. Ryan Howard 1B
  5. Jayson Werth RF
  6. Raul Ibanez LF
  7. Pedro Feliz 3B
  8. Carlos Ruiz C
  9. Cole Hamels LHP

Dodgers line-up

  1. Juan Pierre LF
  2. Rafael Furcal SS
  3. Orlando Hudson 2B
  4. Andre Ethier RF
  5. Russell Martin C
  6. James Loney 1B
  7. Matt Kemp CF
  8. Casey Blake 3B

first of all Dave, when people write in about Carlos Carrasco and say they want him in the rotation they simply aren't paying attention. Carrasco is getting destroyed in AAA, albeit a high strikeout total, he has been ineffective.

Rollins is washed up like Donovan.

everybody needs to relax, if they win today they win the series, and thats what they need to focus on: winning series.

How is Donovan washed up? He only broke the passing record for the birds last season, won two playoff games, and he's only 32. Rollins is just in a bad slump. He'll snap out of it soon.

Start by getting rid of Cairo and bringing up Majewski. Then, instead of throwing away a potentially winnable game by bringing in Taschner, you'd have more options in the bullpen. Right now, they're short in the bullpen; they could use another arm out there. And what are you really losing by getting rid of Cairo. Any why isn't the bullpen an option (not right away, but at some point in the future - be it a week or two months) for Moyer? At least sometimes he makes it through the rotation once before getting hammered. We're just lucky that the Mets, Marlins, and Braves have their own issues.

Jimmy helped lead us to a World Series win just 6 months ago and although Donovan is streaky he helped lead us to the NFC Conference Championship just 3 months ago. With that said, ZOSO, shut the f**k up!!

I would leave him in the 5 spot a little longer 2-7 doesn't mean he's out of the slump just yet.

Think Moyer would accept a temporary assignment to AAA or wherever while he figures out if he can still pitch? It is getting pretty ridiculous. It's not like last night was just a bad outing - he got slammed again. If he's giving up four runs in six innings, I could handle letting him work through it, but his last three starts - 5, 7, and 7 runs. His ERA is up over 3 runs since his one decent game vs. FLA, and his WHIP is 2.35 in those three bad games. He's not right.

Stop killing J-Roll, he is still a terrific fielder. Anyone notice Utley is now 0 for his last 12 and Ibanez is the only starter over 300? They made Wolf like like Cy Young yesterday.
