Rollins back in line-up to face Cubs
As Charlie Manuel indicated yesterday, shortstop Jimmy Rollins is back in the line-up, his first start since fouling a ball off of his knee against the Pirates on Saturday.

As Charlie Manuel indicated yesterday, shortstop Jimmy Rollins is back in the line-up, his first start since fouling a ball off of his knee against the Pirates on Saturday.
Rollins fielded groundballs yesterday and apparently felt fine. He has pinch-hit once since the injury.
Here is the line-up against Cubs righty Randy Wells.

- I know that Ruiz needs a day off but why when they have their 5th starter going who is a mediocre pitcher at best why is Charlie using a catcher that doesn't even belong in Triple A ? You have Roy Halladay pitching tomorrow and a single A catcher could be behind the
plate when Halladay pitches. Why can't we find another catcher from the minors instead of Sardinia ?— naplesbear - Kendrick should kit 8th ahead of Sardinha. LOL!! Sardinha may be the closest thing to an automatic out in the majors.— FetchDixon

Comment removed.- FetchDixon, Sardinha has a higher BA and OPS than Ruiz. I'm not saying he's any good, but he' not an automatic out this season so far.
I know people feel like experts since they watch the games, but check the stats to see what you missed instead of going on gut feeling alone.
And I don't necessarily agree with naplesbear. I think Sardinha could hurt Halladay as much or more than Ruiz can help Kendrick. For what it's worth, Shneider leads the team in Catcher ERA at 3.1, Ruiz second at 3.18 and Sardinha third at 3.3. Not a huge difference there at all. You could weight it by specific pitcher's caught by each guy, but I don't think it's worth it.— tripleplay83 - Jimmy 1 and Vic 5 is a joke. Jimmy should be down 6-8. Vic can't use his speed with Howard clogging the bases ahead of him. Also, I never understand why he doesn't break up Chase and Howard with Poly. It's not like Chase is lighting the world on fire.— DennyP

- Sardinha leads the team in on base percentage. If they had another catcher to use they would use him. His average is better than Ruiz, Utley, Francisco, Howard, or Ibanez, though that's not saying much. I would like to see Victorino higher in the order (2) since he seems to swing at strikes and have a good approach at the plate, like Polanco.— JohnFC

- Busting on a backup catcher is real classy. He is producing as much as expected from a talent standpoint. Making fun of Martinez and other utility players, pointless. This team has so many OLD nonproductive former stars to worry about. Millions are spent on Rollins, Utley, Ibanez and that special staff of aces. The real issues are the swollen contracts of the old guys on the team. Polanco is one one of the few still producing. Howard worth his contract hitting a robust 250. The GM is overmatched. He sees now and doesn't have vision down the line. Too many players have their best years BEHIND them. What happens when Hamels leaves for the coast because money has been spent? The money situation showed up in draft selections. Now the GM will try and salvage a playoff run by trading the future. Beating up a Kendrick or Valdez is a joke. Call out Utley for a change. Oh yes, he is hurt. He hasn't been Utley for quite awhile.— wmontanez27
