UPDATE:  So, you watch the new episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, get ready for bed, the Rays are leading 7-0, you buy your plane ticket to Tampa, you throw a post on the blog, and then you wake up to the clock radio blaring about the Red Sox staging a miraculous comeback. So it turns out what you are about to read is a bit pre-mature. Nevertheless, the Phillies are planning on playing Tampa -- anybody catch former Rays GM and current Phils scout Chuck Lamar in the stands last night? -- and I am planning on the Phillies playing Tampa. Without further adieu. . .

We'll try to get a lot deeper into previewing this [potential] World Series, but for starters here are Pitcher-vs.-Batter match-ups for each team's starters. Neither team has seen much of the other, but the Phillies are extremely unfamiliar with Rays pitching. Kazmir is the only lefty in the rotation, but Shields and Garza have both been very, very good this season.

Blanton and Moyer's numbers against the Rays aren't great.

Here you go:

You might have to change this to the Red Sox. What a comeback, hopefully the Rays can still finish them off this game.

Hopefully, the ALCS goes seven games. Short rest for the victor.

Yeah, but Brunlett can't hit. And I disagree with you about Burrell's defense. He only committed one error all year and has a good accurate arm. The other day he made a nice running catch in left that had trouble written all over it. He has range limitation but he catches a lot of flyballs out there.

Burrell should start in left against lefties and Coste should be the DH. Dobbs is going to play third against righties, especially when Myers and Blanton are pitching.
