Ruben Amaro Jr. briefly experienced one of a general manager's many nightmares last night when he received a text in Colorado. The Phillies' rookie league team, the Williamsport Crosscutters, had been involved in a bus accident that occurred on the Staten Island Expressway after their win over the Brooklyn Cyclones on Coney Island.

"It was scary," Amaro said.

Fortunatley, nobody was seriously hurt. Two players were treated and released with minor injuries. The team's strength and conditioning coach suffered a concussion.

But as you can see from the picture, the bus came close to toppling over an overpass. According to the New York Post, the team pushed open windows and jumped seven feet to the roadway below."

"We all jumped out of the window, I was like wow, we almost went over," a staff member in the travelling party told the New York Post.

Amaro declined to name the two players who were treated at the hospital.

The Crosscutters are back in action today. Aaron Altherr, a promising outfield prospect who has hit .282 with a .724 OPS and 12 steals since returning to Williamsport after struggling in Lakewood, has already hit a home run in today's game.
