The Los Angeles Dodgers wrapped up the National League West title with a 5-0 win over the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night at Dodger Stadium.

The loss means the Rockies will be the NL wild-card team and open the Division Series on Wednesday at Citizens Bank Park.

The Rockies rallied at the end of the season but might have lost pitcher Jorge DeRosa wit a groin injury last night and also have a number of players battling the flu.

"Going to Philadelphia, you know you are going to have to beat one of the best teams. Our guys are excited about that," manager Jim Tracy said after the game.

Here is a look at how the two teams matched up this season:

Season series: Phillies won, 4-2

At home: Phillies won two of three, Aug. 4-6

Quick recap: The streaking Rockies came to Philly and took the first game, 8-3, as Garrett Atkins drove in four runs and Jamie Moyer struggled. In the second game, J.A. Happ pitched his second shutout of the season in a 7-0 win, with a career-high 10 strikeouts. Cliff Lee made his home debut a winner in a 3-1 victory, allowing a run and six hits, with nine strikeouts over seven innings.

On the road: Phillies won two of three, April 10-12

Quick recap: The freshly minted World Series champions got a rude beginning at Coors Field as Cole Hamels lasted just 3 2/3 innings and gave up seven runs in his season debut, a 10-3 loss. In the second game, the Phillies pounded out 15 hits and scored seven two-out runs for an 8-4 win, despite Brett Myers allowing three home runs. Matt Stairs' two-run, pinch-hit homer in the ninth lifted the Phillies to a 7-5 win in the finale.

Recent playoff history: The Rockies swept the Phillies in three games in the National League Division Series in 2007.

I still have a bitter taste in my mouth from 2007. I don't like the Rockies. They are just another expansion team with fruity colors and fair weather fans in my eyes. Philly teams always seem to lose to those kind of teams when it counts (Eagles/Panthers, Flyers/Lightning, Phillies/Marlins). But then again, I thought the Phils would lose to the Rays for that same reason last year, and I was wrong.

Phillies-Rockies series: Game 1 will be Wednesday, Game 2 Thursday, Game 3 Saturday, Game 4 Sunday and Game 5 (if necessary) next Tuesday. Game times are still TBD because the AL playoff spots haven't been finalized (AL Central still up for grabs today).

Times probably wont be announced until at least after today's Tigers and Twins games are over.

Times?? My guess...With the Dodgers, Yanks and Sox all in a playoff series we better like day games. Can you say 1pm games straight through

^^Oh yeah, that's exactly what I'm going to do — start supporting the Flyers, who are bound to finish in one of the Eastern Conference's top seeds, make it to the Conference Finals or Stanley Cup finals... only to choke and get swept in four like they've consistently done for over the past 30 years... Get a clue, FlyersFan561... And stay the hell away from Broad Street when the Phils surprise everyone this October.

Well, if there is anybody who knows something about disappointing first round exits, it would be a Flyers fan.

I'm a little concerned because the Phillies have been playing horrible over the past 2 weeks and they are facing a hot team that beat them in the playoffs before. I hope the Phillies don't take these guys for granted again. Time for Cliff Lee to step it up and do what the Phils got him for.

Man, can't believe Ryan Howard has never hit a homer vs the CrackRockies, especially with the parks these clubs play in.

phink I totally agree with you. I've said that for years. Its time for some expansion revenge, and it all started with the Rays...

C'mon get real. The Phils will be up for the Rocks who knocked them out two years ago. Can you say payback? The Cards will beat the Dodgers and we'll have home field for that series and it's on to the WS...again. The Flyboys can wait till after New Year's.
