Phillies recall Taschner

Phillies lefthander Jack Taschner has been recalled from Triple A Lehigh Valley.

Taschner, 31, began the season on the Phillies’ Opening Day roster and went 1-1 with a 5.20 ERA in 21 appearances before being designated for assignment on July 3 and then outrighted to Lehigh Valley.


In 20 appearances for Lehigh Valley, Taschner went 0-2 with two saves and a 2.08 ERA and held opponents to a .213 batting average. He did not allow more than one run in any appearance and was unscored upon in his final seven games (6.2 innings).
