The Phillies made a pair of roster moves this morning, recalling lefthander Sergio Escalona from Double A Reading and selecting the contract of first baseman Andy Tracy from Triple A Lehigh Valley.
To make room on the 40-man roster for Tracy, righthander Rodrigo Lopez was released.
Escalona is being recalled for the sixth time this season. In six games with the Phillies, he is 1-0 with a 2.84 ERA and has limited lefthanded hitters to a .143 average (1-for-7). Escalona finished the minor league portion of his season at 2-3 with 14 saves and a 3.13 ERA in a combined 47 games between Reading and Lehigh Valley.
Tracy hit .254 with 26 home runs and 96 RBI in 129 games for Lehigh Valley. He finished second in the International League in both home runs and RBI. Tracy appeared in four games for the Phillies last season.
