Why do you care if he is Jewish??? So was Sandy Koufax. Anyway, I love his attitude. He will be great here. Not so much Michael Young- something about him rubs me the wrong way, like Oswalt did. Must be Texas.

Michael Young has a Mexican mother and an Anglo father. Just the opposite of Reuben Amaro who has a Jewish mother and a Mexican former major leaguer father. Michael Young has been a quiet but very productive major leaguer for a dozen years. He will probably end up with 3000 hits and could reach that total while a Phillie. Adams has been the most successful 8th inning pitcher of the past 5 years. In his worst year, last year, he was still far better than anyone the Phils had last year in the 8th. The one thing the two of them have in common is that they are pros who know how to win. We sort of lost our way last year and they will contribute more than on the field. They are not expected to be "the answer" but they are better than what they are replacing. The Phils have enough stars---if they can still perform. What they need is complimentary parts. One more for the outfield would be nice too!
