Sorry, but something got lost in translation between here and Clearwater. Chan Ho Park has been named the Phillies' fifth starter. But lefthander J.A. Happ's future is still up in the air. He will be one of four pitchers competing for two spots in the bullpen. The others are righthanders Gary Majewski and Robert Mosebach and lefthander Jack Taschner.

Park has a Grapefruit League ERA of 2.53. He’s struck out 25, while walking only two, in 21 1/3 innings.

Happ has as ERA of 3.15. He’s given up 18 hits in 20 innings, walking six and striking out 14.

More details to come ...

It is as it should be. He won the spot and Happ gets to stay with the big club-everybody wins.

wow! good for him though, he earned it..funny thing is i really believe Happ could be most teams #4 right now, he has talent and will help us at some point this year. The sleeper pick for this year though is Joe Blanton, arm is healthier then last year..watch out!

Congrats to Chan Ho, but I really would've rather seen Haap in the rotation. We already have two lefthanders in the bullpen.

At some point you will need another starter Happ will be ready. This avoids there being an unhappy Park who did perform well enough to win the job. Things are setting up nicely

I did not like the 3 leftys in the starting rotation .Happ will get his shot and Park has shown he still has some good stuff left and deserves the nod.

From what I read, it is not a definite that Happ is in the bullpen. I read that the Phillies suggested Happ is now competing with Taschner, Majewski and Mosebach for the last two bullpen spots.
