A few quick things. Quick, because I am sitting on a runway in Denver -- well, not actually on the runway, I'm sitting in a plan that is sitting on the runway -- and my battery power is running out on my laptop. We touch down around 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time, so I'll try to expound sometime thereafter. For now, though:
1) I got a kick out of how big a round of applause Matt Stairs received at the ring ceremony and on Opening Day. People in Philly love Matt Stairs. And I'm sure they love him even more after yesterday. In 500 words or less, please tell me why you guys love him so much.
2) I get the feeling that Lou Marson might make his first big league start today. I asked him about it, and he said he hadn't heard anything. But a few minutes after Jamie Moyer and Charlie Manuel met in the manager's office yesterday, Moyer spent a decent amount of time huddled with Marson going over his signals. It would make sense for Manuel to send Marson out there with Moyer, who doesn't necesarrily need a strong game caller behind the plate. Besides, Coste played in a day game after a night game yesterday, and today is a day game after a road trip.
3) Dubee and Manuel said they weren't reading too much into Chan Ho Park's struggles. That said, he'll have to show something in his second start.
