We've survived the three-day winter here on the Gulf Coast of Florida and the temperatures is expected to climb back into the 70's today. The Dominican Republic is in town for an exhibition against lefty Cole Hamels and Co. Jonathan Papelbon will not pitch as scheduled today because he is sick. Righties Ethan Martin and Jonathan Pettibone are scheduled to pitch.

1) The Twins are scheduled to start 29-year-old righty Samuel Deduno, who saw his first extensive action in the major leagues last season with the Twins, starting 14 games with a 4.44 ERA, 6.5 K/9, 6.0 BB/9 and 1.1 HR/9.

2) Ender Inciarte is leading off and playing center field, meaning Ben Revere gets a rare day off. Ryan Howard is starting and batting fourth, which has been the case in every game thus far. The lineup: 1. Inciarte CF, 2. Frandsen 2B, 3. Brown RF, 4. Howard 1B, 5. Ruf LF, 6. Nix LF, 7. Asche 3B, 8. Kratz C, 9. Galvis SS.

3) First cuts could be coming up here soon. The past few years they've happened about a week from now, but spring training is a week longer this year, and the younger guys seem to be getting a little more playing time here as of late.

4) The Phillies will get a look at a few tough relievers on the Domincan squad as Octavio Dotel, Santiago Casilla, Kelvin Herrera and Alfredo Simon are all scheduled to pitch.

5) Speaking of Inciarte, we have him making the Opening Day roster in our latest projection, which you can read here. And here is Version 1.0 from a couple of weeks ago.
