Merry Labor Day, Call-Ups

Just arrived in Washington D.C. after a couple of nights back in Philly. For those wondering where we've been the past couple days, the Daily News doesn't publish on Sunday, and we don't publish on Labor Day, so there wasn't much sen$e sticking around Chicago for Saturday and Sunday.

It's a happy Labor Day for Greg Golson and Lou Marson, both of whom were called up to join the roster for this last month. It'll be interesting to see how the Phillies utilize these two, as well as lefty J.A. Happ.

Marson hit .314 with a .433 on base percentage for Double A Reading. He struck out 70 times against 68 walks in 322 at-bats.

Golson hit .282 with a .333 on base percentage for Reading and converted 23 of 28 stolen base attempts. But he continues to strike out a ton, whiffing 130 times in 426 at-bats.

We'll check in with the new guys today. A much more complete blog post should follow before game time.
