Looks like it will be Moyer, Kendrick, Hamels

Phillies pitching coach Rich Dubee said today that Jamie Moyer will make the first start after the All Star break against Florida in Miami. Kyle Kendrick will follow him Saturday. Cole Hamels will then likely start Sunday, though that isn't yet set and stone. Dubee was noncomittal on the final two spots in the rotation, though he did say Brett Myers will get another start in the minors. Myers pitched Saturday night, so his next turn would likely be Thursday, when the IronPigs host the Red Barons.

That would seem to put Myers on track to start Tuesday against the Mets. But there's an off day mixed in there as well. So maybe Myers starts Wednesday. Who will get the other day? Will it be Adam Eaton, who has allowed 16 runs in his last 6 1/3 innings? Or will it be J.A. Happ, whom Dubee and Charlie Manuel would love to get another start?

We shall see.

The major problem for years in this organization is scouting and judging talent. Do they scout Latin American players as well as other teams? No, money is a factor. Garcia was a major hit. Trading a young pitcher for a washed up and injured guy is simply stupid. This ballpark is not the greatess for pitchers. A fly ball pitcher is in trouble with every pitch. Some every day players think they are home run hitters, like Rollens and Utley.

For those who would cut loose those who are not producing--that sounds good--but look at the millions involved--doesn't look realistic to me--the one who should take the fall to me is the folks who selected Eaton and Garcia who couldn't perform--seems a scouting issue--Garcia was damaged--what about Eaton--he used to pitch well--is he damaged as well?

I am so tired of Eaton and his inability to take command. It was time for him to go last year. Instead of the Phillies keeping mediocrity in the rotation, we need to bring in, not necessarily a big name but a consistent, solid starter that produces wins with a low ERA and WHIP that can get the opposing team looking. It's not difficult. I like Haap, he cannot go the innings like Hamels and Moyer can but he is good for 4-5 solid innings.

How does everyone forget about Drabek? I know he had the Tommy John surgery but if they don't make any stupid trades they would have him, Happ, Carrasco and Savery as a pretty decent rotation amd that does'nt include Hamels, Kendrick or what Myers could become if he just accepts being a starter.Flash and Eaton are done, just let them finish out the year and then bye-bye.

I can barely watch Eaton pitch anymore. The guy just gives me the blue willies. I know he knows he's about finished in his career. He knows he's getting money under almost false pretenses, and he knows that it'll be a miracle if he survives the fourth inning in any given game. It's like watching Seinfeld's character George Constanza walk through life committing one atrocious faux pas after another. He knows he a jerk, but continues to put on that front of normality. Hell, maybe even George Constanza would be better than this guy. They should buy a honeymoon package deal for him and Myers at a Disabled List Poconos' hotel. Send the two of them to the Orioles for Jeremy Guthrie (if the O's will bite), pick up a part of their contracts to make it enticing, bring in Happ (and Carrasco if necessary), and be done with these two sore armed wonders. If a guy who can give you some quality innings and the two young arms you bring in don't do the job, then get somebody else in here. It is a wonder the Phillies are where they are despite the pitching of forty percent of the starting staff. The bullpen's starting to break down and time's running short on this season. Hey, maybe Eaton's on HGH and will get suspended by MLB hqs. We can only hope.

Did anyone else see the camera shot in the dugout, during today's game, that showed Hamels and Eaton talking to each other? I didn't recognize Eaton, and from his girth I honestly thought he was a 60 year old coach. They wonder why Eaton and Myers aren't pitching well... hmm.... Home County Buffet, anyone?

This team is going nowhere with this rotation as is...moyer will start to break down, eaton stinks, kendrick please....myers heading for single A... how this team is still in first is a miracle...where is gillick? someone should tell him CC and harden already got traded...wake up

I think when Eaton and Myers have two of the five worst ERA's in all of baseball, that speaks for itself. They need to be replaced.

I don't think Happ really had a "bad game". He walked a bunch but was better than Myers or Eaton had been.

RichNC may be correct. I can Eaton starting over Happ because of the investment. Eaton is not the only pitching issue. Myers is simply a bigger disappointment than Eaton. Myers seems to forget the win is more important than his personal role. At least, Savery had a nice game today. Keep Kendrick, Hamels, Happ, Carrasco, and Savery in the system. Then you won't need to continue looking for overpriced free agents.

If they start Eaton again they are crazy. Why start him, other than the fact he has a 3 year, 25 million dollar contract? Knowing the Phillies, they will probably start him over Happ. If you watch those two guys pitch, it is obvious who has the best stuff. Happ may have a few bad games, but he is likely to improve over the second half. Eaton will not improve.
