Lidge vs. Manuel

POSTED: Wednesday, December 31, 2008, 11:27 AM

We unveiled a new little feature today that I kinda like. It's our Sportsperson of the Year, which this year obviously was very Phillies-centric. Brad Lidge ended up taking home the honor, although I voted him second behind manager Charlie Manuel. I think you can make good cases for both.

Here was my ballot:

1. Charlie Manuel

2. Brad Lidge

3. Pat Gillick

4. Bernard Hopkins

5. Carli Lloyd

Feel free to share yours. . .

How about some love for GM Amaro's prized offseason aquisition? Ronny Paulino drove in 4 runs in a playoff win Monday. Take that, NY Mets!

i would've been happy with any of the phils winning this. It was that kinda season. But you have to love Lights-out Lidge. This guy should've had an ego the size of, oh, say, Texas this year and he still sounds like one of the good guys.. Good for you, Brad. Congrats, you deserve it.

I would have given it to Adam Eaton.....seriously though either Manuel or Lidge are very deserving of the award.
