Several media outlets have reported that the Phillies turned down an offer from the Yankees for Cliff Lee over the offseason. Now, it looks like the Bombers will get their man anyway.
The Mariners and Yankees are on the verge of a deal that would see the erstwhile Phillies ace join forces with the team he dominated in the offseason, ESPN.com is reporting.
One of the prospect reportedly on the move is highly-regarded catcher Jesus Montero. FoxSports.com's Ken Rosenthal, meanwhile, is reporting that the Phillies are exploring trade offers for right fielder Jayson Werth.
The Phillies continue to look for help for both their bullpen and rotation.

- I agree with AlexSp. The Yankees continue to buy championship after championship because they can. I think that the Yankees are literally bringing non-competivness to the league but there is probably nothing that can be done about it.
