Alright folks, this is what we know:

1) The game will be played whenever the weather breaks, though nobody from Major League Baseball was willing to put a potential time on the thing.

2) Pitching coach Rich Dubee said the Phillies will definitely have a reliever on the mound, not Game 6 starter Brett Myers or anybody else.

3) The Phillies will lead off in the bottom of the sixth pinch-hitting for Cole Hamels, then will proceed to the top of the line-up.

4) Commissioner Bud Selig said he would have suspended the game whether or not the Rays tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the sixth, as they did on Carlos Pena's RBI single that scored B.J. Upton from second. The game would have continued with the Phillies leading 2-1.

5) Tickets for Game 5 will continue to be honored. So don't throw them away.

6) We'll have complete coverage in the paper.

When I get my Daily News tomorrow, every article in the paper needs to bash Major League Baseball and Bud for this abomination and the completely unfair call he made AGAINST the Phillies. The Media needs to call them out on this. They can't be allowed to get away with this unscathed. The National Media is just going to continue riding the "We love the Devil Rays for no reason" vibe. You guys have to step it up and point this huge issue out.

Can Bud Selig control the weather? I have no problem with MLB trying to complete the game. If the Rays didnt score, people wouldnt be complaining. Did the rain let Upton get a huge jump off first? Did it swing the bat for Pena? Phils have 4 at bats, the top of their lineup... Rays have 3 at bats with the bottom of their lineup. People should focus on an excellent shot the Phils have...

Who else does this happen to? 28 stinkin' years we wait for this night, and this? It had to rain TONIGHT? This isn't MLB's or Selig's fault...just look at the picture above. Who else does THAT happen to? What could've/should've been our long overdue moment of triumph and we get this. I always thought it was just a funny story to tell, but after tonight I'm starting to buy into this Billy Penn Curse stuff...one more example to cite to outsiders as to why we're so "pleasant".

No chance the Phils' struggling bats touch David Price. Tampa wins 5-2 on a BJ Upton 3-run homer, and dominate the Phils in 9-1 and 8-4 wins in Tampa, completing the greatest choke in Philadelphia sports history.

Don't throw the tickets away, but what if you lost it during the course of the game?

This whole situation, from the poor umpiring throughout the series to the idiotic performance of Bud Selig, just helps to further point out how TV has ruined the World Series. First, no night games should start after 7:00 PM. Second, the weekend games SHOULD BE DAY GAMES! To hell with worrying about college and pro football! Competing against those two entities didn't hurt anything during the years of World Series play before Charlie Finley forever polluted the Fall Classic when he pushed the idea of night baseball for the Series. To force the two best teams in baseball to play later at night in the bad conditions that late October, more often than not, presents, is totally idiotic. Plus, Selig and his crew moans about not having a young fan base yet they present the World Series games at night at so late a start time that many adults have a hard time staying up. So long as baseball allows this boob to remain as Commissioner, it will continue to taint the game with stupid moves like this. One last thought - if Selig was so worried about the health and well-being of the players, didn't the waving of the Infield Fly Rule give that genius a clue that conditions were, at the very least, compromised?

Original#11 I'm with you. Selig is a disgrace who has done nothing but take the national past time and make it a dog and pony show. The Phils should REFUSE to take the field if there is one drop of rain falling from the sky, to hell with what the meteorologist says. That bunch are only accurate 30 % of the time anyway.

Everyone...positive thoughts. We score in the 6th (giving Cole his win), bullpen shuts down Rays...end of story.

what about bringing in Happ because he can go multiple innings and Tampa has trouble with Lefties and then you have Madson and Romero plus Lidge to hopefully put it away if you get a lead. and you can use Happ multiple innings because he will not come up for an inning or three. And I agree positive 4 at bats and the top of the order and maybe the wind will not be blowing in like it was. Also more pitching options in Tampa as the games are pushed back. This team will find a way to close out Tampa I am sure of that.

you gotta believe... the solution is a simple one guys, Score in the bottom of the 6th, Romero, Madson, Lidge...Game, Set, Match.

That's the only good thinkg about Hammels getting through the 6th before they postponed teh game-we go straight to Ronero, madson and Lidge. don't need multiple innings from anyone

Everyone has to watch the press conference with Bud Selig - He stumbles over his words the entire time - he had no clue what he was talking about - MLB should be ashamed of itself for keeping those players on the field in those conditions - its a miracle someone did not get hurt
