Is it still a sunrise service if there is no sunrise?

Not a pretty day thus far here in Denver. It is 11:52 a.m. Mountain Standard Time and the sun has yet to show its face. The sky is gray. The tarp is on the field. The forecast calls for 60 percent chance of rain. Batting practice is being held inside the cage. The temperature isn't expected to rise out of the 40's.

Happy Easter.

A few things to watch today, the first of which is righthander Chan Ho Park, who will make his first start in a Phillies uniform. Brett Myers remains the only one of the team's starters who has thrown more than five innings in an outing.

  2. Shane Victorino CF
  3. Chase Utley 2B
  4. Ryan Howard 1B

Some pre-game notes:

1) The Phillies are 2-3, two games behind Atlanta and Florida, both of whom are 4-1, and one game behind the 3-2 Mets.

2) Johan Santana pitches today for the Mets against the Marlins.

3) Jair Jurrjens throws for the Braves against the Nationals' Scott Olsen

4) Cole Hamels threw a bullpen session before the game. He will start again on Thursday against the Nationals.

5) Chase Utley is 8-for-18 this season and has been on base 54.5 percent of the time. Still, Charlie Manuel told me this morning he doesn't think Utley is "quite there yet." Should be interesting to see when he finally does arrive.

6) Four of Jayson Werth's six hits have gone for extra bases. That, combined with his three walks, makes him the Phillies early leader with a 1.093 OPS.
