Happ will miss next start; Eyre has elbow soreness
David Murphy, Daily News Staff Writer
Assistant GM Scott Proefrock just briefed the media on injuries:
1) J.A. Happ will definitely miss a second start thanks to a mild muscle strain in his rib cage. Jamie Moyer will presumably take his place, while Kyle Kendrick could be called on to start in Sunday's doubleheader against the Mets.
2) J.C. Romero had a cortisone shot in an attempt at flushing the inflammation out of his left forearm. He will be shut down for a couple of days.
3) Clay Condrey received a favorable report from team doctor Michael Ciccotti. He could throw in a rehab game or simulated game in the near future.
4) Greg Dobbs is running at 85 percent, but as of yet has no plans to appear in any simulated or rehab games.
Inhale. Exhale. Repeat. 6 game lead. Let's not turn into the whiners of Red Sox Nation. Preserve Jon
