As they embark on the final dozen games of the season, the Phillies have landed on a starting pitcher for Wednesday night's game in Atlanta ... J.A. Happ.

The Phillies have used Brett Myers and Jamie Moyer on short rest in the last week in order to avoid having to go to their fifth starter after Kyle Kendrick's struggle, but this is one of the spots where they needed someone.

Happ made two starts for the Phillies in July, against the Mets and Cardinals. He pitched 11 innings and allowed eight hits and four runs, all earned. He had eight strikeouts and eight walks. His earned run average as a starter was 3.27. Both of his starts were no-decisions.

Happ, 25, made three relief appearances. His overall ERA is 5.71 in 17.1 innings of work.

Moyer starts tonight against righthander James Parr for the Braves.
