The Phillies have just announced that lefthanders J.A. Happ and Jack Taschner will start the season in the bullpen, meaning righthander Gary Majewski will begin the year at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

The announcement hardly comes as a surprise, although don't be surprised if you see Majewski competing for the Phillies at some point this season.

The Phillies still have yet to name Miguel Cairo to their Opening Day roster, although he currently is the 25th man. Gary Sheffield appears to have agreed to join the Mets today, so the team will likely look elsewhere if it still feels it needs a player other than Cairo.

Paul Hagen is holding down things at the ballpark tonight as I get re-adjusted to life in Philly. I never thought I'd be so happy to see overcast skies and drizzle.
