Friday starter TBA, updated rotation

Still no word from the Phillies on the identity of Friday's starter against the Athletics. The options are Vance Worley and Kyle Kendrick. Kendrick looked sharper in his most recent start, a seven-inning effort against the Marlins in which he struck out five and allowed one run. Worley held the Mariners to one run in five innings but threw a lot of pitches while struggling with the command of his secondary pitches (which he relied on a lot more than his fastball).

But Kendrick has more experience in the bullpen, and the Phillies have said previously they want Worley pitching every five days. Plus, Worley would be on a regular turn on Friday, while Kendrick would be pitching with more than a week of rest. Logistically, starting Worley on Friday and moving Kendrick back to the bullpen makes more sense.

If that is what happens, here is how the rotation will likely shape up from now until the All-Star Break.
