Eyre hurt?
The Phillies can't afford to lose a piece from their bullpen, much less a valuable piece like lefthander Scott Eyre, who recorded two big outs the last two nights and was credited with the victory Thursday suffered an apparent calf injury during the game. This, according to Charlie Manuel. Manuel said he "could be out for awhile," but we will not know more until tomorrow in Philadelphia.

Raul Ibanez has 58 RBI through 58 games. Even I can figure out the pace he is on.
(Hint: 58 divided by 58 times 162)
thats sucks (Eyre) EndTheDrought
really? he only threw 2 pitches??? JesseH
yea this hurts, we need to make a move ASAP if he hits the DL, we can't have Chan Blow Park and Jack Crapner throwing in pressure situations in the future. We should try to make a move for either LaTroy Hawkins or Huston Street, both could be had right now. robm0202
I actually agree with robm0202. I love our bullpen, but only want C Park and J Taschner to be used in games we are down by a lot early in the game and we need guys to throw a few innings. Eyre, I hope everything's ok. It was great to have you for our playoff chase last summer and you really gave the Phils a lot more choices of when they wanted to use the great Romero and Madson. furio
Comment removed.
I hope we can but with the loss of Lidge and the potential loss of Eyre, this leaves us with Madson, Romero, Condrey, Taschner, Park, and probably a callup, I don't feel too good about this. Madson has been awesome and JC is fresh, but outside of that I have zero confidence in the other guys. Clay has had a nice little year but he hasn't pitched all of those innings in pressure situations, he's a nice pitcher but not as a 7th inning option IMO. robm0202
Get Escalona some innings it things aren't to bad. phigglesfan75
Maybe somebody could explain to me why we would bring in a right-handed reliever to replace a situational lefty? That makes absolutely no sense. JimG
Escalona looked good the little bit he got to pitch when he was up. It's not quite like 2 years ago when you never knew what you were going to get from the minors. jjacob02
Murph, is Koplove still out there ?? mick314
Mick: Kaplove was released as per his contract on June 1. I haven't heard that he got picked up by anyone, though I doubt the phils woudl go after he didn't show them any loyalty. We have options in the minors if we need a lefty for a few weeks fan_in_jerusalem- I prefer to call him Traschner. Big stretch of games here for the phils. They better start playing better at home! Red Sox don't have the best record on the road so I guess it's a wash. can't wait!
What's Zagurski up to? ktdb05
'bout 280 lb's probably jmudukes79
Koplove exercised an option in his contract to become a FA if he wasn't up by June 1st. In reference to JimG, we aren't just replacing a situational lefty, if you read my post I said coupled with the Lidge loss. With Lidge on the DL Madson is now the 9th inning guy and Romero is the 8th inning guy, so we lose that 7th inning guy and I don't feel comfortable with anyone we have for the 7th, so I think we need a quality arm. If he's lefty, great, but he doesn't have to be, we just need someone who can pitch the 7th. robm0202
